PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST

This contest is for the cover of The Storyteller Magazine

All entries must be postmarked by December 1, 2008

No entry fee

Prizes: 1st through 4th will grace the covers of The Storyteller in 2009

All photos must be vertical and black and white

All photos must be 8x10

Any subject, except pets, but do remember, you will be on the cover of The Storyteller, so make sure you're entry will abide by our guidelines. We'll take nothing graphic--NOTHING--nor will we take anything that is questionable in nature--no nudes, no semi-nudes, no erotica of any kind. Check out the covers on this page and try to stay within those ranges--and remember--it must be a photo without too much "stuff" in it as it will not reproduce well. The fewer the objects, the better they will turn out.

Include a cover letter that tells us where the photo was taken and when. Also, if possible, give us a little background on the photo--why you chose this particular shot and any historical data that may be associated with it.

If your photo is of a person or people, you will need to include a permission form from those subjects before we can print it.

NO PET PHOTOS!

The photos must be interesting enough that authors can write stories about that particular photo.

Make sure your name and address are on the back of the photo. If you'd like your photo returned, please include a SASE with enough postage to cover that return. One stamp will not likely do it.

Surprise us, delight us, make us think about the photo.

NOT A CONTEST

Since we have changed the covers of The Storyteller, we'd like to see if you can write a story about that cover. This is not a contest, but we'd love to see what you can come up with on creating a story that will fit the cover.

Our normal guidelines are in effect here--no graphic anything, no erotica or new age, or anything deemed racial or biased toward any race, religion or moral preference.

Word limit: 2,500 words

In the near future, you'll be able to read some of the stories in The Storyteller. Take the time to read them and see what we like.

On the outside of the envelope, please write: COVER STORY

There is no deadline, but try to stay as current as possible. Keep your stories within that particular year.

If you have any questions about any of the contest--or cover story non-contest, please email the editor at storyteller1@hightowercom.com
